The Dining Room

The dining room is the largest and best room in the clubhouse. Notable features are the high vaulted ceiling with oak beams and a standing gallery at one end. There is also a large inglenook fireplace where hangs, incongruously to some but much loved by others, a large original painting of a clipper ship by Claude Grahame Muncaster.

The winners of all club trophies since inception are engraved on oak boards hung as a feature of much interest on all walls, and of such importance to our members that many were replaced in oak when the original became too dark to read easily!

The dining room can be laid to any format but 92 persons is the largest number that can be accommodated and properly served when all are seated with full place settings.

For club members and regular visiting clubs and societies, the most popular menu is our renowned and extensive three course (four if in need!) lunch with a wall to wall selection of starters that always include fresh sea food and joints carved to personal request by the chef of the day.

The chefs can create menus requested by a private members group, visiting society or private visitor group.

A typical range of general and created menus is shown in the MENUS link above.

Year after year we receive appreciative reports from various distinguished golfing societies following matches against the club. Happily, they place us regularly within their top three visits for the exceptional quality of the course and the food.
