| The final 400 yards- plus par four offers a particularly fine view of the entire clubhouse and to the Downs beyond. Heather and fairway bunkers left and right define the drive into a flat landing area. Further on, there are two more bunkers set into the right half of the fairway that may trouble the longest of tee shots, or perhaps a second shot recovering from a poor drive. The second shot is into a very narrow front opening to the green, due to bunkers both right and tight in left, with a further blind bunker behind to catch any shot carrying to the green but pulled much past left quarter. The green is fairly flat so two putts are likely, and a par at the home hole will be the reward for a fine second in, but a bogey five is more likely if the green is missed. |
